1. Who we are

We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal data, please contact us at hello@december19.co.uk.

2. What data we collect and why

2.1 Data you provide to us

When you contact us through our website (for example, via a contact form or by email), we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, job title, and the content of your message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and to manage our business relationship with you.

The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and managing client and prospective client relationships.

2.2 Data collected automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information about your device and browsing activity. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the website that referred you to us.

We use this information to ensure our website functions correctly, to monitor and improve performance, and to understand how our site is used. The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interests in operating and improving our website.

For more detail on how cookies and similar technologies are used, please see our Cookie Policy.

2.3 Marketing communications

We may send you information about our services, news and events if you have opted in to receive marketing communications from us. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us at hello@december19.co.uk.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our website and business — for example, our website hosting provider, email platform, and analytics tools. These providers are contractually required to process your data only on our instructions and in line with UK GDPR.

We may also disclose your personal data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request from a public authority.

4. International transfers

Some of our third-party service providers are based outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR, such as the use of the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and in line with our legal obligations. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to three years. Website analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will do so unless we have a legal obligation to retain it.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to be informed about how your data is used (this policy fulfils that obligation)

  • The right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • The right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • The right to erasure (the ‘right to be forgotten’) — in certain circumstances you can ask us to delete your data

  • The right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances

  • The right to data portability — you can ask us to provide your data in a machine-readable format

  • The right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing

  • Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling — we do not make automated decisions about you

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@december19.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection. You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

We would, however, welcome the opportunity to address any concern directly before you contact the ICO, so please get in touch with us first.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the ‘Last updated’ date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.

This policy was last updated in June 2026 and supersedes all previous versions.
