December19 Appointed to Launch London's Newest Entertainment Destination
Independent media agency December19 has been appointed by Olympia to develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy for the launch of London's newest entertainment destination.
Introducing the Partnership
December19, a leading independent media planning and buying agency, will spearhead the media strategy and delivery for Olympia's transformational reopening, with new public venues set to open in phases from early 2026 .
After a five-year redevelopment programme, the 140-year-old event venue is set to become a globally iconic mixed-use destination featuring a 3,800-capacity music venue, the largest new theatre in London in almost 50 years with 1,575 seats , as well as public spaces, restaurants, bars, hotels and state-of-the-art offices. The transformed Olympia will retain its heritage event spaces, which will carry on hosting some of the best events in London and the UK.
The appointment marks a significant milestone for both parties, bringing together Olympia's vision to create a world-class entertainment destination with December19's challenger approach to media and commitment to transparency and effectiveness.
December19 will work closely with Olympia to develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy supporting the phased opening of its new public venues and spaces next year, helping to establish Olympia as a cultural landmark for both Londoners and visitors to the city.
David Lucy, Managing Director at December19, states: "Olympia represents everything we love at December19 - a bold vision that challenges convention and demands fresh thinking. This launch is about creating genuine excitement and advocacy for a truly special destination. We're taking a different approach, putting transparency and effectiveness at the heart of everything we do to help Olympia become the entertainment destination London deserves."
Stuart Mayo, Director of Marketing & Communications at Olympia, added: “It’s not too often you have the chance to work on such an iconic London destination and to reimagine it for our era, and it comes with a responsibility. December19 showed us they grasped the role that media will play in achieving our ambitious plans for Olympia’s launch. They demonstrated not only innovative thinking, but also a bold, data-driven approach to media buying, as well as the collective spirit we were looking for. We are delighted to be working with them to launch the reimagined Olympia and firmly position it as London’s most exciting new destination on the world stage.
