Our half year school report – Easter 2019

Time for an update as we enter the Easter weekend and our sixth month of our financial year comes to an end. Plenty has gone on and rather ironically for an advertising business, we are hopeless at PR’ing ourselves so most of this will probably be new to you.

2017/18 was a bit of car-crash if truth be known but we all need these bad years so that lessons are learnt, people become wiser and businesses become stronger. Thankfully we have shown rapid bouncebackability (blame Ian Dowie for that word) since October thanks to our focus on new business, resulting in several sweet client wins…

Immediate Media kicked it all off as we secured the work to push the Radio Times Christmas issue and then followed a nice stream of business. Neilson Holidays, xero, Bluebeam, Peachy, Little Mistress, Chase Distillery and Many have all joined the good ship D19 providing a nice mix of markets for our talented team to work across. An estimated total annual billing worth of £8.5m…we really should PR our wins!

The nicest part of all of this is that five out of the eight wins has been old clients coming back to us which is testament to what we are doing down here.

And we never forget about our current clients who are just as important to us as they always have been. Our average score of 9.1 within Drum Recommends (https://www.recommendedagencies.com/december19/ratings) reflects this and our testimonials on the site are second to none. On top of that, we have been short listed at the Drum Awards for the second year running.

Last month we were positioned 4th in Campaign’s Best Places to Work which was a drop from 1st place last year (well done ID Comms for nabbing our spot) but is still something we are most proud of. Our business was created to not only offer first class service to our clients but also provide an environment our staff would thrive and enjoy working in. This is always at the utmost of our mind.

We are improving the working environment for our staff by expanding our office space by taking over the next-door premises too. A larger meeting room with all the tech to run state of the art conference calling is all very nice but the icing on the cake will be the Ligne Roset (one of our first clients) furnished break out area providing some down time space for the team. Furniture arriving from France today….eeek…not excited much!

It is also time for a brand re-vamp, so the wheels are in motion for our very first brand guidelines being created which will lead onto a brand spanking new website.

And finally, a little on the dry side but probably the most important news is that we have hired our first ever Financial Director. An important stage in our history as we look to continually develop a first-class business.

So, it is all go at the banana show. I want to say exciting times, but I have never known times not to be exciting running this business. All it means is that our commitment to our team and clients will get better than it already is…and it is already pretty good. Happy Easter everyone x
